How Does It Work?

Anti-Static Carpet Spray is a premium-grade spray-on treatment that prevents static electricity accumulating on carpet fibres. Static electricity may build up on an untreated carpet because of the friction between people’s shoes and the carpet fibres. It is especially prevalent when the air humidity is low. The resulting sparks and discharges that occur when the occupant touches a metal surface are both annoying and hazardous, particularly near sensitive electronic equipment. A build-up of static charge also attracts dirt and dust particles from shoes and from the air and thereby contributes to rapid soiling of the carpet.

Anti-Static Carpet Spray eliminates all these problems by providing a treatment to the fibres which stops static charge from accumulating. The product has a pleasant perfume, has no tendency to attract dirt, will not change the feel of the carpet and is compatible with most fluorocarbon products. Usually, the treatment with ANTI-STATIC CARPET SPRAY will last 3-6 months or from one cleaning to the next (whichever occurs first).

For Use On:

Anti-Static Carpet Spray is effective on all types of synthetic, natural and blended carpet fibres.

Application

Initial treatment:

• On dry carpet – dilute 1 part of Anti-Static Carpet Spray to 2 parts with warm water and spray onto dry carpet at the rate of 1 litre per 15 square metres of carpet. For deep pile carpets, apply more solution until it is evenly damp.
• On damp carpets (after extraction cleaning) – use undiluted Anti-Static Carpet Spray and spray onto damp carpet at a rate of 1 litre per 30 square metres of carpet.

Subsequent treatments:

• On dry carpet – dilute 1 part of Anti-Static Carpet Spray to 4 parts with warm water and spray onto dry carpet at the rate of 1 litre per 15 square metres of carpet.
• On damp carpets (after extraction cleaning) – dilute 1 part of Anti-Static Carpet Spray to 2 parts with water and spray onto damp carpet at the rate of 1 litre per 30 square metres of carpet.
• These dilution and application rates may be varied to suit very thin or very thick carpets, but do not over-wet any carpets.
• For carpets with a strong tendency to create static discharges, a second treatment can be applied, if necessary, when the carpet has dried.
